Insurance & Payment

How Payment Works

I am an out-of-network provider. Payment is due at the time of booking to reserve your appointment.

After your visit, you will receive a detailed receipt and superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

Insurance Reimbursement

Under the Affordable Care Act, most insurance plans are required to cover lactation support, though each company handles reimbursement differently.

Many families with plans such as BCBS of MA, Tufts, Allways/MGB, and Harvard Pilgrim are reimbursed without issue. I recommend contacting your insurance company prior to your visit to ask about their reimbursement process for out-of-network lactation services.

Reimbursement is not guaranteed, and coverage varies by plan.

What Is a Superbill?

A superbill is a detailed receipt that includes the information insurance companies typically require when requesting reimbursement for out-of-network care.

I provide this after your visit at no additional charge.

Who Insurance Typically Covers

Most insurance plans reimburse lactation support when the parent is lactating or planning to relactate. If you have fully transitioned to formula and the parent is no longer lactating, insurance typically does not reimburse since services for the baby alone are not covered.

I am happy to provide care regardless of feeding method and offer transparent self-pay options.

Rates & Visit Types

Rates vary based on visit type, location, and length. All current pricing is listed clearly at the time of booking.

If you have questions about which visit to schedule, I’m happy to help guide you.

Reduced rates for in-office and virtual visits for families with state insurance or those who are formula feeding are offered.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

Appointments may be rescheduled or canceled with advance notice. Please refer to the booking page for the most up-to-date cancellation policy.
